Revolutionary Philadelphia: 1776

Visit the Museum Oct. 17-18 to experience a living history event that will immerse you in the fall of 1776. Enjoy walking tours, dramatic vignettes, and hands-on activities as you meet the diverse residents of Philadelphia, the headquarters of the Revolution. Haggle over goods at the market while you gather news of the day. Visit artisans demonstrating their crafts, and consider what the war means for them. Listen in as neighbors debate politics and loyalties — and maybe join in! As tensions rise while the British march south from New York, decide whether you will enlist with the Philadelphia Associators to support Washington’s Army, maintain your loyalty to the King, or play both sides.

From 1-3 p.m., author Tom Hand will conduct a book signing in the Museum's Rotunda that is included with Museum admission. An American Triumph and America Victorious will be available for purchase in the Museum Shop.
